Sign up for other newsletters | Unsubscribe | Update your profile Turn Any 2-D Shape into a 3-D Object Want to convert a flat shape in Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2007 into a 3-D object? Here's how: 1. With a slide open, click the Insert tab, and then select any shape from the Shapes ribbon. Alternately, select a shape you have created yourself. 2. Click the slide's surface to add the shape to the slide. 3. Right-click the shape, and then click Format Shape. 4. Select a solid or gradient fill. This step is not required but will enhance the 3-D look of your object. 5. Transform your shape into a 3-D object. You can add depth, bevel, contour, and surface type via the 3-D Format tab. 6. Give perspective to your 3-D shape. Rotate the object via the 3-D Rotation tab. Upgrade Old Documents to 2007 Versions If you receive a document from a colleague who is not yet running the 2007 Microsoft Office system, the 2007 Office system will automatically open it in Compatibility Mode. However, not all the new features will be available to you. When you close the document, it will be saved in its original format, not in the format of the 2007 release. If you want to upgrade the file to the 2007 Office system: 1. Click the Office button, and then click Convert. 2. In the Microsoft Office Word dialog box, click OK, and then click Save. Note: You may want to make a backup copy of the file before you upgrade it. Also, to see when you are working in Compatibility Mode, look at the top of the screen.
