Democast: WLK Preview Filters In Windows Logo Kit (WLK) 1.5, we have introduced a significant change to the way new tests and points of failure are identified. The new preview filters are intended to mask the failures generated by preview tests. A new five-minute video that demonstrates how preview filters appear in the WLK, as well as how they are handled via the Windows Quality Online Services (Winqual) site, is available at http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/winlogo/logocast.mspx. Effective Date Postponed for BUSPORT-0034, CONNECT-0093, and CONNECT-0096 The effective date for logo program requirements BUSPORT-0034, CONNECT-0093, and CONNECT-0096 has been changed to June 1, 2011. We have received extensive partner feedback about CONNECT-0093 (USB device is USB IF certified) and BUSPORT-0034 (USB Host Controller is USB IF certified). We are announcing some changes to these requirements to address this feedback. First, we will postpone the effective date for these two requirements by one year, until June 1, 2011. Second we will remove the requirement that testing be done through USB-IF-authorized independent testing labs. We will update the testing requirement to include tests from the USB-IF. The tests will be based on the USB Command Verifier (USBCV) tests that are currently available on the USB.org site. In the upcoming months we will define how these tests integrate with the Windows Logo Kit (WLK). We will immediately begin to accept feedback in LogoPoint ( https://winqual.microsoft.com/member/logopoint/default.aspx) for this change. After the new rules are drafted, we will accept additional feedback on the implementation of the rules. In a separate matter, the effective date for CONNECT-0096 (Devices which support Bluetooth must implement the Bluetooth 2.1 requirements) has also been postponed to June 1, 2011. Windows Touch Test Lab in Redmond Will Have Limited Staffing During December Holiday Season The Windows Touch Test Lab in Redmond will operate with a reduced staff from December 21, 2009 to January 3, 2010. To expedite the review process for Windows Touch devices during this time, send your hardware to the Windows Touch Test Lab in Taipei.
