Microsoft's passion for the Web has driven it to build a highly competitive platform that challenges many industry "truths." Whether it's bringing politics or the Olympics into the homes of millions, or designing an effective e-commerce site for a corner store, Microsoft is breaking boundaries and presenting opportunities for you to showcase your business, develop innovative solutions, reduce your costs—and win new customers. This week, we explore some of the resources the Partner Program has assembled to empower you to shape the future of the Web.

Single platform drives multiple business opportunities.
Last year at the Worldwide Partner Conference (WPC), Microsoft named Vertigo as Partner of the Year in the category of Web Development. Vertigo shone for its interactive Microsoft Silverlight Deep Zoom presentation of Hard Rock's collection of rock 'n' roll memorabilia, a unique inventory that required a dynamic connection with its marketplace. Vertigo then leveraged its mastery of Silverlight to help bring the U.S. Democratic National Convention and, later, the Presidential inaugural address to viewers around the world.

Microsoft helped extend Silverlight with Moonlight, an open-source version that brought the inaugural address to Linux desktops, too. And here's our primary point: Many of your customers may be used to thinking about Web platforms in terms of open-source technologies. It's time they realized that the Microsoft Web stack is now a complete offering and one that's highly compatible with open source technology.

The Microsoft Web stack extends from Web presence to digital marketing and e-commerce. It supports social Web applications as well. Microsoft Web Solutions—one platform, many opportunities.
