Each year, there are special opportunities to come together. Learn from one another. Network. Get insiders' tips about what's coming from Microsoft and what's in it for you. Earlier this year, we brought you the Worldwide Partner Conference (WPC). Next month, many of you will come to Seattle for the Windows Hardware Engineering Conference (WinHEC). But right now, the Professional Developers Conference (PDC) is under way, with streaming keynote addresses and on-demand session replays. We highlight two of the biggest announcements made at PDC 2008.

New Products, New Opportunities
Today, the Windows 7 operating system was announced at PDC. Attendees heard how the forthcoming release can help customers leverage previous investments in the Windows Vista operating system. Enhance security and control. Reduce power consumption. And seamlessly connect their people and devices.

For your customers, Windows Vista will be the straightest road to the new operating system; you'll be able to take them there with the Microsoft Desktop Optimization Pack (MDOP). Information for developers is available on MSDN. Meanwhile, keep up with the latest news by subscribing to the Windows RSS Feed.

Also announced at PDC, the Azure Services Platform enables you to build new applications in the cloud. The newest component of the software-plus-services strategy adopted by Microsoft, the platform can help reduce your costs while expanding your capabilities. It's scalable, cost-effective, and reliable. So you can reach more customers. And focus on your development competencies, rather than on your development infrastructure. A software development toolkit is already available.

And that's not all. If you're not there in person, attend PDC 2008 virtually for inside information about other new and updated Microsoft products.
