New Requirement to Improve Experience with USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 Devices

Starting December 1, 2010, logo requirement ID SYSFUND-0225 goes into effect for motherboards and all system form factors. The requirement states that systems and motherboards that have xHCI controllers should route the USB 3.0 (Super Speed) and USB 2.0 ports corresponding to each connector to the same xHCI controller.

The rationale behind this requirement is to avoid companion controller implementation of xHCI controllers in systems. It can lead to bug checks and bad device states when switching USB ports on the system.

Work with your suppliers to ensure your motherboard implementation meets this logo requirement. For complete details, see SYSFUND-0225 on LogoPoint. LogoPoint can be accessed through your Winqual account.
