Some Preview Errata Have Been Converted to Regular Errata

Preview errata are applied in two ways. In one case, all failures that occur in a test are allowed; this is a preview erratum that applies to the entire test. In the other case, the erratum only allows specific assertions within the test to fail; this is a preview erratum that applies only to test cases.

An example of a preview erratum that applies only to a test case is Errata 1338. This erratum applies only to the test case described, not the entire test. Errata 1338 is described below.

Errata Title:
UAA Test: PREVIEW Errata: This test enforces Low Power DCN requirement that D3 Cold support entails EPSS support
Errata Issue Description:
Errata 1338
Preview Errata - D3 Cold support advertised but EPSS not advertised.
AUDIO-0062, effective June 1 2009, requires that any HD Audio codec that advertises EPSS support comply with the Intel HD Audio Low Power DCN. The D3 Cold bit is reserved on codecs that do not advertise support for the Low Power DCN.
Errata Resolution Description:
When this Errata expires, the issue described will be considered a valid failure.

Based on the large amount of partner feedback on the preview errata process, preview errata that apply to test cases will be converted to regular errata. Preview errata that apply to entire tests will be left in place. Preview Errata for test cases will have the word preview in their title and have messaging in the issue statement emphasizing what is being previewed. When these errata expire, failure of the described test cases will be considered a valid failure.

This is a short term solution to immediately address partner feedback. We are investigating other solutions for the long term. We believe it is important to differentiate preview errata from regular errata in order to highlight new points of failure for a period of time before they are enforced.

Below is a list of the preview errata for test cases that have been converted to regular errata.
