Driver Version Date Requirement for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 Submissions For all Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 submissions, the driver version date (DriverVer) in the .inf file must be April 21, 2009, or later. If the driver version date is earlier than April 21, 2009, the submission will fail. For more information on updating DriverVer, see http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms794435.aspx. If you are already testing your drivers for Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2 but have a driver version date earlier than April 21, 2009, you can use the following process to avoid retesting. After you complete your testing with Windows Logo Kit (WLK) 1.4, update the driver version date (DriverVer) in the .inf file. Submit the updated .inf file with the tested driver package and log files. If only this field is changed in .inf file and no other changes are made to the driver package binaries after testing, this change will be acceptable. SYSFUND-0193 WLK 1.4 QFE 004 - Fix to Signed Driver Check Test for System Submissions Is Now Available QFE 004 for Windows Logo Kit (WLK) 1.4 kit is now available for download on the WLK Connect site ( https://connect.microsoft.com/site/sitehome.aspx?SiteID=668). This fix addresses the problem with the Signed Driver Check test in the Systems kit, where the test was failing to recognize the new qualification level for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 drivers signed through the logo program for hardware. Specifically, this addresses the following false failure for correctly signed drivers: Error: 0x1, Error 0x00000001 Error: No logo level attribute on file. File=(null) line =0 This file has a 0 level logo QFE 004 is required for those applying for Windows 7, Windows Server 2008, and Windows Server 2008 R2 Systems logos with WLK 1.4. This QFE is not required for Device logo categories. QFE 004 must be used with WLK 1.4 (version 1.4.7100.00). Note: Before you apply the QFE, close all active DTM Studio sessions. Applying this QFE might affect any submission that is in progress, so you should complete any submissions before applying the QFE. After installing this QFE, you must regenerate any incomplete submission that was begun before the QFE was installed. Windows Logo Program Test Kit Policy Announcement Microsoft recommends that you use the Windows 7 Release Candidate (RC) build for Windows 7 Logo Program submissions; however, submissions made with later builds of Windows 7 are acceptable and will not be blocked. We recommend using the Windows 7 RC build except in situations where known issues are fixed in later builds. If you use a build later than Windows 7 RC, we recommend that you use a PRS-signed build. Note however, that you might not get support from Microsoft Customer Service and Support (CSS) if you use a post-RC build.
Printer manufacturers: For Web Services on Devices (WSD) printers, you must use a build later than Windows 7 RC due to a bug in the RC build.
After the Windows 7 RTM build releases it will be required for all Windows 7 Logo Program testing.
