Windows 7 Requirements Have Been Posted to LogoPoint

The Windows Logo team would like to let you know that requirements have been posted to LogoPoint for Windows 7. The only requirements remaining to be published are in the categories of Printing, Imaging/Scanning, Portable Devices, and Streaming Media. We plan to release these requirements at WinHEC.

The Windows 7 requirements can be accessed by logging onto LogoPoint through your Winqual account. Once in LogoPoint, go to the Requirements Search page and choose Windows 7 in the OS drop-down box. The Windows Logo team requests that you submit your feedback to LogoPoint by November 14, 2008.




Program Support  


Windows Service Pack Testing Policy

Partners are required to test their logo submissions with the latest available service pack ninety days after it has been released. This is to ensure the maximum compatibility with the device driver and the Microsoft Windows Operating system. The following is a list of Microsoft Windows operating systems and the currently-supported service packs.


. Windows XP Service Pack 3
. Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 2
. Windows Vista Service Pack 1
. Windows Server 2008 RTM





Windows Logo Program Requirement Updates

The Windows Logo Program would like to inform partners of the following requirement updates. You can find complete details on LogoPoint. Please provide any feedback by November 14, 2008.

BUSPORT-0030 Merging of BUSPORT-0012 and BUSPORT-0014.
INPUT-0048 Reference in details for SENSOR_DATA_TYPE_COUNTRY_REGION data field changed from RFC 1766 to ISO 3166.
POLICY-0003 Add final two paragraphs that clarify our expectations about having all drivers of a multi-function device installed during testing.



Logo Sessions at WinHEC 2008

WinHEC is the place to be to learn about the logo program for the upcoming year and beyond! Logo program sessions will cover key changes to the program for Windows 7 and training on the logo tools. These are "can't miss" sessions for attendees who are responsible for system and device hardware design, driver implementation, and Windows Hardware Logo testing.
