Connect-Based Support for Windows Logo Kit 1.4 Has Closed

Support for Windows Logo Kit (WLK) 1.4 on the Connect Web site has closed. All support for WLK 1.4 should now be handled through Microsoft Help and Support. To request technical help, open a support incident through your Technical Account Manager or through the online WLK support page (http://support.microsoft.com/oas/default.aspx?&prid=11880).

Office Hours Event Scheduled for September 2, 2009

The Windows Logo Program team is pleased to announce our next Office Hours event. This event will focus on how to create a Windows Device Stage experience and how to submit device metadata.

This event will take place Wednesday, September 2, at 18:30 Pacific Daylight Time (September 3, 2009, 01:30 Universal Time). Please note that this is a change from the previously announced date of September 1.

Office Hours is a live interactive session featuring members of the Windows Logo Program team and other experts at Microsoft. Attendees can see and hear the team answering their questions and discussing hot topics.

To prepare for this next Office Hours event, we suggest that you view the following webcasts and then either bring your questions to the event or submit your questions in advance through e-mail:

Effective November 7, 2009, All Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 Submissions Must Use an RTM Operating System for Testing

Effective November 7, 2009 all hardware submissions for the Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2 Logo Program must be based on testing with a released-to-manufacturing (RTM) version of the operating system (OS). For submissions made on or before November 6, 2009, you can test with either an RTM version or a release candidate (RC) version of the OS.




Reminder: Use RTM Versions of the WDF 1.9 Co-Installers

With the release to manufacturing (RTM) of Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2, all submissions that include Windows Driver Foundation (WDF) 1.9 co-installers must use the RTM fre version of the co-installer redistributables. The WDF 1.9 RTM fre co-installer redistributables work for all operating systems.




Windows Logo Kit 1.4 QFE 020 Is Now Available on Connect

QFE 020 for Windows Logo Kit (WLK) 1.4 is now available for download on the WLK Connect site (https://connect.microsoft.com/site/sitehome.aspx?SiteID=668). This QFE fixes issues with WHEAHCT fatal error persistence test loops on reboot.

QFE 020 is required for Windows Server 2008 R2 system logo testing.

Note: Before you apply a QFE, close all active DTM Studio sessions. Applying a QFE might affect any submission that is in progress, so you should complete any submissions before applying the QFE. After installing a QFE, you must regenerate any incomplete submission that was begun before the QFE was installed.




Windows Logo Kit 1.4 QFE 021 Is Now Available on Connect

QFE 021 for Windows Logo Kit (WLK) 1.4 is now available for download on the WLK Connect site (https://connect.microsoft.com/site/sitehome.aspx?SiteID=668). This QFE fixes issues with the GraphicsHDMITest not recognizing ELD v1 and v2 data types.

QFE 021 is required for system logo testing.

Note: Before you apply a QFE, close all active DTM Studio sessions. Applying a QFE might affect any submission that is in progress, so you should complete any submissions before applying the QFE. After installing a QFE, you must regenerate any incomplete submission that was begun before the QFE was installed.




Windows Server 2003 Logo Program for Clusters Will Retire December 31, 2009

The Windows Server 2003 Logo Program for cluster servers will retire December 31, 2009. After that date, Microsoft will no longer certify clusters for the Windows Server 2003 logo, through either the logo program or the Enterprise Qualification Program (EQP).




Preview Errata

Preview errata are used to mask failures in new tests or sometimes test cases within tests. If a preview Erratum is applied to your test run, you should examine the failures in question. Do not assume that these failures are bugs in the test. The failures are most likely problems with the device under test. These problems must be fixed before the preview erratum expires.

Listed below are the preview errata that are currently in effect and their expiration dates.

Preview errata that expire September 30, 2009:
. 773: General Audio Test: PREVIEW for KSPROPERTY_AUDIO_CHANNEL_CONFIG security testing on third-party drivers.

Preview errata that expire December 31, 2009:
. 125: PCI Compliance test fails when SSID/SSVID registers are writable.
. 769: StorImports test will remain preview until further notice.
. 1198: UAA Test Preview errata: S/PDIF pin "Pin Sense" responses cannot use "Impedance" bits.
. 1212: NDIS WLAN: PrivacyExemptList_ext failure to set with OID_DOT11_Privacy_Exemption_list with revised version.
. 1213: NDIS WLAN: Encryption_ext OID_DOT11_MAC_ADDRESS_LIST set request expects an updated structure.
. 1238: Fidelity Render Power Transition test.
. 1245: GlitchFree WMV HD 720p video playback quality test cases 2 & 3 Preview for 6 months post WLK1.4 release.
. 1262: Windows Client System Check For WDDM 1.1 Display Driver Support preview until Dec1, 09.
. 1315: PREVIEW ERRATA: IO Cancellation with Direct IO: This test is preview in WLK 1.4.
. 1343: PREVIEW ERRATA: WLK DVD Spindown, WLK Optical Drive Streaming Mode, and WLK CSS Negotiation Region Check tests are preview for WLK 1.4.
. 1389: Audio and System: RoundTrip in-air preview filter.
. 1444: WaveTest: Preview filter for HDMI outputs that don't support 44.1 on Windows 7 or under third-party driver.

Preview errata that expire June 1, 2010:
. 1152: TCG TPM Integration test case Quote2Basic is Previewed until 1 June 2010.
. 1288: UAA Test: preview filter for Encoded Packet Type validation.
. 1299: UAA Test: Some digital pin widgets incorrectly set Jack Detect Override.
. 1338: UAA Test enforces Low Power DCN requirement that D3 Cold support entails EPSS support.
