Policy Clarification for Windows Server 2008 R2 Devices Systems that qualify for the Windows Server 2008 R2 logo automatically qualify for the Windows Server 2008 logo without further testing. However, this is not the case for devices; devices and associated drivers must be tested and qualified separately for Windows Server 2008 and Windows Server 2008 R2.

Windows Logo Kit 1.4 QFE 014 Is Now Available on Connect QFE 014 for Windows Logo Kit (WLK) 1.4 is now available for download on the WLK Connect site ( https://connect.microsoft.com/site/sitehome.aspx?SiteID=668). This QFE is required for all system submissions. This QFE fixes problems with the CRASH - Display Stress test. The test was sometimes generating a forced Timeout Detection and Recovery (TDR) error (Bug Check 0x117: VIDEO_TDR_TIMEOUT_DETECTED), which caused the test to fail falsely. This QFE prevents the forced TDR error, so failures in the TDR Watch task should be considered valid again and should be fixed by the vendor. Windows Logo Kit 1.4 QFE 015 and QFE 016 Are Now Available on Connect QFE 015 and QFE 016 for Windows Logo Kit (WLK) 1.4 are now available for download on the WLK Connect site ( https://connect.microsoft.com/site/sitehome.aspx?SiteID=668). These QFEs pertain to the Audio category and are optional. They fix issues related to jack detection in the RoundTrip and Fidelity tests. QFE 015 is for device testing and QFE 016 is for system testing. These QFEs are for use with WLK 1.4 RTM (version 1.4.7100. xx). Note: Before you apply a QFE, close all active DTM Studio sessions. Applying a QFE might affect any submission that is in progress, so you should complete any submissions before applying the QFE. After installing a QFE, you must regenerate any incomplete submission that was begun before the QFE was installed. |
