Early Bird Special for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 Submissions

The Windows Logo Program ensures that every logo-certified product has been tested to install readily and run reliably on Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2.

To help our hardware partners achieve logo certification, the Windows Logo team is pleased to announce that for a limited time we are reducing the submission fee. Effective with the release of Windows 7 RC, the fee for every new submission for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 logos will be only $100, a $150 discount. Please note that this offer will be for a limited time. We will announce the end date for this offer when Windows 7 RC is released. Stay tuned!

This is a great opportunity to lower your development costs by downloading the latest Windows Logo Kit (WLK) and testing your system or device for submission during this limited timeframe. This offer is available to both device and system partners.

Windows Logo Kit 1.3 QFE 005 Is Now Available on Connect

QFE 005 to Windows Logo Kit (WLK) 1.3 is now available for download at the WLK Connect site (https://connect.microsoft.com/site/sitehome.aspx?SiteID=668). This QFE fixes several problems related to the local area network (LAN) and wireless LAN (WLAN) programs in WLK 1.3. These improvements affect only the LAN and WLAN programs; all other network-related programs remain unchanged. QFE 005 addresses the following problems:

. WLAN: Windows XP logo certification is blocked because of the improper inclusion of the Dot11n_security_ext test.
. WLAN: Tests sometimes begin to run before a device is ready, causing the tests to stop responding.
. Multi-path exerciser (MPE): Backchannel problems cause tests to go into an infinite loop.
. WLAN: Universal Serial Bus (USB) drivers require a delay after being disabled.
. WLAN: The ndistest test raises an exception during the Driver Test Manager (DTM) run while running the softap_autthentication_ext test.
. MPE: Windows XP devices under test (DUTs) fail to connect to a Windows Vista SoftAP access point.
. LAN: The keep-alive test should not be run on operating systems earlier than Windows 7.
. LAN and WLAN: Miscellaneous backchannel problems affect both LAN and WLAN testing.
. WLAN: The AdhocInterop_ext test causes other tests to stop responding.

Windows Logo Kit 1.3 QFE 006 Is Now Available on Connect

QFE 006 to the Windows Logo Kit (WLK) version 1.3 is now available for download at the WLK Connect site (https://connect.microsoft.com/site/sitehome.aspx?SiteID=668). This QFE updates the Smart Card Minidriver test category. After applying this QFE, smart card minidrivers that implement two-key Triple DES (TDES) for challenge-response authentication can get certification. The QFE also changes the RSA Encryption/Decryption test by encrypting and then decrypting a 32-byte buffer that resembles a typical symmetric key instead of plaintext.

This QFE is for use with WLK 1.3 RTM (version 1.3.7000.xx).
