MDT 2012 provides support for Configuration Manager 2012 RC2 releases!

 

The Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT) 2012 is now available for RC1 download! This update provides support for Configuration Manager 2012 RC2 releases. MDT 2012 expands on the capabilities provided by Configuration Manager 2012 for OS deployment. The latest version of MDT offers new User-Driven Installation components and extensibility for Configuration Manager 2007 and 2012. Users now also have the ability to migrate MDT 2012 task sequences from Configuration Manager 2007 to Configuration Manager 2012. The RC1 release of MDT 2012 provides support for deploying Windows 8 Consumer Preview in a lab environment. Existing MDT users will find more reliability and flexibility with many small enhancements and bug fixes, as well as a smooth and simple upgrade process.

Accelerate private cloud planning with the MAP Toolkit!

 

Lisha He, from the Microsoft Assessment and Planning (MAP) Toolkit team, chats with Symon Perriman about the new 6.5 release and how the evaluation recommends ideal private cloud solutions from the Microsoft Private Cloud (Hyper-V) Fast Track program. MAP is an agentless inventory, assessment, and reporting tool that can securely assess IT environments for various platform migrations. The Fast Track program will combine Microsoft software, consolidated guidance, validated configurations from OEM partners for compute, network, and storage, as well as value-added software components.

The latest release of the Security Compliance Manager (SCM) will include new product baselines for Exchange Server 2007 and 2010! SCM 2.5 enables users to quickly configure and manage computers and private cloud using Group Policy and Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager.

Simplify your application approval process with the Application Approval Workflow tool!

 

Coming soon to beta download, the Application Approval Workflow tool will help strengthen your Configuration Manager 2012 by maintaining your application approval process from start to finish. End users can easily request applications on-demand using the Configuration Manager 2012 Software Catalog. Using this tool, your IT administrator can automatically place new applications into service, automate the entire life-cycle process: service request creation, review, approval, and tracking. The Application Approval Workflow tool can also generate reports and track usage of application activities.

IPD guide beta for System Center 2012 - Service Manager

 

The Infrastructure Planning and Design (IPD) Guide for System Center 2012 - Service Manager will soon be available for beta download! This guide can help your organization more quickly benefit from this platform for automating and adapting IT Service Management best practices such as those found in Microsoft Operations Framework (MOF) and the IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL). This guide takes you through an easy-to-follow process for successfully designing the servers and components of a Service Manager implementation. The result will be a design that is sized, configured, and appropriately placed to deliver the stated business benefits, while also considering the performance, capacity, and fault tolerance of the system.
