Link Layer Topology Discovery Will Not Be Required

CONNECT-0098, which takes effect June 1, 2010, originally would have required that network-enabled devices support Link Layer Topology Discovery (LLTD). In response to partner feedback, we are changing CONNECT-0098 from required to if-implemented. This means that we will not require network-enabled devices to support LLTD, but if a device does implement LLTD, we will require that the implementation conform to the protocol standards.

Imaging partners should note that IMAGING-0048 will require CONNECT-0098 only if the device implements LLTD. IMAGING-0048 will still require CONNECT-0099 and CONNECT-0100.

CONNECT-0098 will also apply to network media devices, network attached storage, and routers, but only if those devices implement LLTD.

Preview Errata Currently in Effect

Preview errata are used to mask failures in new tests or sometimes test cases within tests. If a preview erratum is applied to your test run, you should examine the failures in question. Do not assume that these failures are bugs in the test. The failures are most likely problems with the device under test. These problems must be fixed before the preview erratum expires.

Listed below are the preview errata that are currently in effect and their expiration dates.

Preview errata that expire June 1, 2010:
