The logo program team takes your feedback very seriously and this is your opportunity to tell us what you like, what you don't, and the changes you'd like us to make.

Silverlight Is Coming to Winqual

Microsoft Silverlight is coming to the Windows Quality Online Services (Winqual) Web site (https://winqual.microsoft.com/). Starting on October 8, 2009, the Winqual uploading process will use Microsoft Silverlight 3.0 for both logo program and device metadata submissions. Silverlight will improve overall speed, security, and ease of use during the upload process.

To install the latest version of Silverlight, see http://www.microsoft.com/silverlight/get-started/install/default.aspx. After you install Silverlight, you must restart your browser for the changes to take effect.

Effective November 7, 2009, All Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 Submissions Must Use an RTM Operating System for Testing

Effective November 7, 2009 all hardware submissions for the Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2 Logo Program must be based on testing with a released-to-manufacturing (RTM) version of the operating system (OS). For submissions made on or before November 6, 2009, you can test with either an RTM version or a release candidate (RC) version of the OS.

New Log Viewer Available For Driver Test Manager (DTM)

The DTM Log Viewer is used to diagnose test failures outside of the DTM Studio environment. This new version of the log viewer incorporates feedback from customers and partners, such as:

. A change to the advanced view window to display test names.
. A change to the main window to display test logs that were present in the submission report.
. A change to the threading behavior.

For a complete list of changes, download the new log viewer and see the Readme file in the download package (http://download.microsoft.com/download/C/1/E/C1E7F386-CD6C-4E25-A249-986D30E736AD/DTMLogViewer.exe).

You can also download the new log viewer from the WLK Tools & Downloads section of the Windows Logo Kit page on the Windows Hardware Developer Central (WHDC) Web site (http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/winlogo/wlk/default.mspx).
